Catalog Description:

A rare early French carriage clock circa 1840 in an ebony veneered case. The clock is signed for Hy Marc, the retailer, but the movement and platform are by Jules. The platform has a sub-frame, divided lift escapement with a helical spring. A similar escapement is shown on Page 73 of Charles Allix's book. The clock strikes the hours and half hours on a bell.
