Catalog Description:

American Steeple Clock, Gilbert Clock Co., c.1880 Rosewood veneer case; brass movement; original painted dial on zinc; 30 hour movement; 19" tall by 11 inches wide; Condition: Excellent-original throughout, runs well with rapid strike. Additional Dealer Comments: The veneer on the wood case is outstanding. A few tiny chips here and there but overall BEAUTIFUL. The dial is also original-not a replacement paper pasted over the original painted numerals...this one retains its original painted face. The scene on the lower door glass is complete and without flaking...a charming country scene. The label inside the clock is also completely intact and readable. This 30 hour steeple clock is one of the nicest we've had in a long time. The clean movement runs well. The strike is on a coil gong and faster than some...to remind owners of the rapid passing of time. Gilbert Clock Co., Winsted, Connecticut.
