Catalog Description:

C.1820, Unsigned American tall clock, probably New Hampshire, with a good 8-day movement with arched cut out in both plates. This clock is from a local home; the case is cherry, but was refinished about 20 years ago to match walnut furniture, so is med brown in color. The movement is original to the case, and all components started life together. The fret may be a replacement, but certainly is well done; 2 bottom quarter caps missing from columns. Last serviced in 1981 (card attached), the clock was running when we picked it up. Retains a good original painted dial with gold leaf floral corners and arch decoration, and with calendar dial above the 6, and seconds bit at 12. Dial measures 12 x 16.25' . A good clock; Height 93' Additional keywords: longcase, tallcase, grandfather
