Smith and Goodrich

Catalog Description:

C.1850, Smith and Goodrich, Bristol, Conn, Sub-mini 30 hour fusee, round band in good condition. The case has been refinished and there are some cracks and bubbles in the veneer (not bad, but there). Retains original dial (numerals strengthened long ago), and an excellent label. The old tablet has been repainted by one of those GREAT NY artists (wish I knew who), and it looks the part quite well Interestingly, the bottom left corner of the door was originally inlet for the hinge (on the wrong side); the wood is aged nicely and a hinge was never installed. Height 15" $450-650
