Catalog Description:

C.1880, French, Rare 400 Day clock with complex, compound pendulum. Compare this to lot 425 in our April "99 sale. The movement is the same, but the pendulum is designed more compactly (has the same oscillating period), so that it will fit in the confines of a brass and glass case. The case is accented with red marble top and bottom. The dial shows the normal hour and minute hands, a seconds hand below 12 and a fourth hand provides "up-down" winding indication with approximate number of days left in the year. Height 14'
