Antique Thomas Fattorini Clock Price Type: auction |
|
Catalog Description: C.1890, Thomas Fattorini, Skipton, Yorkshire, England. This was the UK"s answer to American "long alarms". The large open spring, 8-day movement has one train for time and the second for alarm, rather than strike. This one retains rear label (about 85 percent), identifying it as the "Bugler" Alarm Clock. At some time the clock took a tumble backwards and the movement has pulled loose from the front of the case and one mounting foot broken off. A notched piece of wood will suffice. The case itself has minor scrapes and chips but is otherwise complete with original top and finials, plus original finish. Crystal is cracked This is overall a very good example of Fattorini"s patent and his clocks. Height 17' |
