Catalog Description: C.1950, German, Whistling Drunk at Lamp-post, in very good original condition. This model has a battery box carved into the wooden base, which holds 2 D-cells to power the blinking light in the lantern. Note old batteries corroded and rendered this part inoperative. The paint is in excellent condition and the mechanical spring wound whistling mechanism is in good working order. These wind-up models have been replaced with transistor models that whistle through a speaker; most collectors prefer these older ones. Height 19" Reserve $650 |
