Catalog Description:

C.1916, Chelsea Clock Co., shelf clock for Spaulding and Co., Chicago, (signed on dial) red brass "Drum on Base" SHIP'S STRIKE mantel clock in very good original condition. This clock was definitely made entirely by Chelsea, with a typical mahogany sub-base for the gong and with the serial number 96945 stamped into the base and matching the number on the movement. The 6" Special dial with raised bronze numerals and fancy bronze hands are in good condition. Neither we nor Chelsea folks have seen this model in brass, which matches in proportion the previous 2 lots, only smaller. These 3 clocks (262a, 263 and 263a) are part of what makes Chelsea collecting so interesting. Height 13"
