Catalog Description: C.1840, French, Automaton mantel Clock time and strike in a bronze and ormolu case, and with a separate movement for the rotating glass "fountain" on the front of the clock. This is an especially nice example, complete with a later dome; examples may be seen in Tardy's, in the Louis-Philippe section. The early silk thread movement strikes on a bell. The engine turned dial has turned dark but can be restored. Height of clock 14" , with dome 16" |
