Catalog Description:

C.1870, French, Lyre Form Mantel clock in outstanding original condition. Produced at the end of the Napoleon III era, in the style of Louis XVI, this is both attractive and well made. A stepped dark green marble base accented with ormolu moldings is mounted with two Phoenix, whose wings change to flowers, rising to the top of the clock forming a lyre, with the bell strike pendulum movement in a cast cylinder in the center. The porcelain dial is perfect, and with a small engine turned center. Noteworthy is the pendulum bob, a cast and gilded butterfly. Hands are original. Clean and running; high quality; height 14"
