Catalog Description:

C.1820, English, Viner (Charles), London, a good 3-fusee walnut bracket clock and bracket 8-bell, quarter chiming walnut bracket clock and bracket in good original condition. The arched silvered dial well engraved and with the firm's name engraved prominently and also with serial number 2208. The large and robust movement with a F/S adjuster in the arch and a "chime/silent" lever to the right of III. The movement is ticking and chiming, but would benefit from service; the bells have shifted a bit on their standard and will need adjusting. The case has well figured walnut veneer (some dry splits here and there), and finely pierced wooden side frets and rear door. The bracket is well carved on the underside, with gilded accents (bracket slightly warped). A fine period piece, extremely heavy. Clock 22", total Height 29"
