Seth Thomas Parlor Calendar No. 9

Catalog Description:

C.1886, Seth Thomas, "Parlor Calendar No. 9" shelf clock in outstanding condition, with restoration. The dials have been professionally refinished by the Dial House. The balance of the clock, including hands, finish, and pendulum is original and shows evidence of loving care over the years. This model is of walnut, with fancy burled veneers on front surfaces of the door, top and side trim. Moreover this is just about as wild as Seth Thomas designers got in their effort to capture part of the high Victorian walnut accessory market. This model is illustrated in Ly's yellow calendar book, pages 261-62, and his 1997 value was $3500. Both glasses are old; wonderful label. This clock and the next were owned by George Tardiff for many years. Height 29"
