Catalog Description:

Herschede Electric Shelf Clock with Ship's Bell strike, c. 1925 made by the Herschede Clock Co., in Cincinnati, Ohio. It is a ship bell striker, circa 1925, and it strikes every half hour and hour, thus increasing the number by one time, until it reaches 8. Then, it starts all over again. It is called an eight bell striker clock. It has a very interesting dial with the directions of the compass on it-north, south, east, and west. Also, it has sea shells on the dial. Look at the roping that goes all around the case. The dial is signed.
