EXTREMELY RARE MARK LEAVENWORTH SHELF CLOCK (Mark Leavenworth, Waterbury, CT c. 1828) Mahogany and rosewood case with a rich, warm patina. The case has brass inlay beautiful carved columns, and paw feet with a crisply painted wooden dial. A crisp, clean label reads: Eli Terrypis patent clocks made and sold by Mark Leavenworth. Time-and-strike, 30-hour wooden works, weight-driven movement An incredible clock in virtually untouched condition. (This is the clock pictured on p. 133 in Horology Americana.)
