Catalog Description:

C.1848, Brewster and Ingraham, Bristol, Conn., 30-hour time/strike rosewood veneer steeple clock. This is one of those rare early models that is full height but is a little narrower than the standard model. There have been recent articles in the Bulletin on these clocks. The door has some veneer damage. There is also some veneer loss the sides of the base. The clock retains its original unusual finials, but has some damage on the tips. The original dial has a paint scratch at 2 o'clock (minor in the overall picture). The hands and upper glass are original. The tablets is a hand engraved replacement (nicely done). This is the last in the development of the 30-hour iron backplate movement design culminating in a brass backplate. The movement is signed. The clock retains its original key and pendulum. This rack strike movement originally had brass springs, but are now steel. Complete and sound Height 19"
