Warren Clock Company

Catalog Description:

Waltham Clock Co., banjo. The large 42-inch case is made of the finest mahogany wood, hand painted glasses depicting Commodore Perry's victory in Lake Erie, Sept. 10, 1813. Gilt rope around both glass panels, heavy brass side rails and eagle. Waltham made reproduction banjos copying Simon Willard's famous clocks of the colonial period. This near perfect clock was offered by Waltham in the 1920's and 30's. This case is stamped"26" in several places, which probably means it was made in 1926. The original metal dial is signed and showing practically no wear. The brass pendulum locks in place; weight is enclosed in a metal chute behind the glasses. I owned this clock at one time, sold it, and then recently bought it back in a large collection of fine clocks. This clock is pictured and described in Ly-American Clocks, page 247; and Ehrhardt's Book 1, page 107.
