E.C. Brewster & Son, Bristol, Conn, ca 1850's. An early steeple clock with the original brass springs, 30 hour ribbed movement Strikes hours on a coil gong, and is running It has a good full label, original dial and frosted glass which features lions, vultures, and an oriental man carrying a scythe Inscription on the glass says, "Time Cuts Down All, Both Great and Small" 20 inch walnut veneer case has a couple of veneer chips, not bad for a 150 year old clock None of the books makes note of this company One would assume Brewster and his son continued making clocks after the dissolution of Brewster and Ingrahams in 1852
