Welch Manufacturing Company No. 12 Regulator

Catalog Description:

E.N. Welch Mfg. Co., "No. 12 Regulator", ca 1885. 30 day time only, double spring movement, running very good. 65 inch quarter sawn oak case has the original old dirty finish. I compared this case with those pictured in catalogs and can see nothing missing, or anything new. There are a lot of applied pieces, but all there. Signed paper dial is very old. Second hand does not fit properly, probably not original to the clock. Excellent brass beat scale and brass bob. The glass has bubbles, looks original. Touted by Welch to be an "accurate timepiece". See Ly-Welch, page 108, and Bob Schmitt's April 2001 auction catalog, page 172. The movement in this case is as pictured in Ly-Welch. The nicely refinished No. 12 in Schmitt's Auction, brought $3840.
