A FRENCH GILT BRONZE AND EBONIZED WOOD BRACKET CLOCK, late 19th century, movement impressed with Japy Freres mark and 'BEST RACK/8017/55', pendulum impressed '8017'. Six-inch silvered metal chapter ring engraved with Roman and Arabic numerals surrounded by cherubim spandrels, bell striking square movement with anchor escapement, the the rectangular case with domed top and carrying handle, glazed sides and front door, door mounted with scrolling vine spandrels, four urn-form finials and reeded ball feet, with key - 15 1/4 in.
