Ithaca Parlor Calendar No. 3 1/2

Catalog Description:

Ithaca Calendar Clock Co. black dial clock, called the "3 1/2 Parlor", ca 1881. Walnut case is 20 1/2 inches, with ebony trim and elaborate carvings. Nickel plated sash, bell, pendulum rod, and calendar. 8 day, spring, strike. 5 inch paper, time dial, recently replaced. This correct dial was obtained from the Ithaca company. 8 inch calendar dial is glass with numerals and designs painted in silver. Original glass pendulum with the Ithaca logo inscribed. This clock is called the late model (by 1 year) as it has a 3 piece board instead of 1 piece, and the dial patent date imprinted of "Mar. 21, 76", instead of "Mar. 10, 1859". In one description this clock is called the early model because of the 2 piece backboard. Side carvings are indicative of the late model carvings, but trimmed in gold. The books say the early carvings are trimmed in gold? Refer to Ly-Calendar, pages 132-133, and Millers Calendar Clocks, pages 34-35.
