Catalog Description: Long running French pinwheel portico shelf clock, ca 1815-1830. Gilt bronze portico case decorated with acanthus foliage, a dentilled frieze, tongue and dart molding and beadwork, the columns with Corinthian capitals. Rectangular base has anthemion and acanthus decorations. Rectangular stepped top with cast scroll decoration. Stands very high for this style case, at 26 inches. French movement with half hour bell strike, sweep centre-seconds, running for 45 days. Circular brass 2 train movement with going barrels, centre-mounted pin-wheel escapement, and count wheel strike. One piece porcelain dial is 5 1/2 inches, painted Roman numerals and outer rings for minutes and inner ring for half seconds. Blued steel Broquet hands with moon. Signed "Angenin A' Paris".
