Catalog Description:

Henry Terry column and splat clock, Ca 1834 "Patent Eight Day Clocks, Made and Sold at Plymouth, Connecticut by Henry Terry, At the old Manufactory of E. Terry & Sons". Ca 1834. 8 day wood movement, Group 4, strikes an iron bell. Fully carved case, half columns and eagle splat. One wing has been repaired. Great full label, period weights, pendulum, hands, and a super wood dial. The show stopper of course is the painting of George Washington. Very little touch up has been done on the painting. 36 inch mahogany veneer case is very nice with a couple of exceptions; some poor repairs to the returns on the very back, and a couple of nicks on the edges. 2 ivory escutcheons, working locks, and an old key. Some damage to veneer to the right of the upper lock.
