Catalog Description:

Clark, Gilbert & Co. column clock, ca 1841-1845. "Clark, Gilbert & Co., Winchester, Conn", ca 1841-1845. 30 hour brass movement is signed same as the label. Strikes hours on a coil gong. The backboard has blue paint in the middle and a label in the bottom. About 90% of the label is intact. Running very well. Old iron weights are typical of hollow column weights. Period pendulum, hands, and old painted zinc dial. The top glasses have original putty, bottom no evidence of ever having putty, and the glass matches the middle one. 28 1/2 inch mahogany veneer case is beautiful and all intact, except, a few small places on the top edge and the bottom board all around.
