Catalog Description:

"C. Boardman, also by J.A.Wells, Bristol, ConnUS", steeple clock, ca 1834-1843. "C. Boardman, also by J.A.Wells, Bristol, ConnUS", ca 1834-1843. Movement is signed "C.Boardman, Bristol, CTUSA", and "Patented Jan. 1847". Full backboard label, very nice glass-painted flowers, rebacked. 20 inch mahogany veneer case is almost perfect, no repairs. Door trim is inverted, outer edges are rolled. A really great clock. 30 hour striking movement is running. This case, movement, label, is pictured and described on pages 243-245 of Kenneth D. Roberts book, "The Contributions of Joseph Ives to Connecticut Clock Technology, 1810-1862".
