Herschede Clock Company Pattern No. 86

Catalog Description:

C.1925, Herschede Hall Clock Co., Cincinnati, O., Pattern No. 86, 9-tube floor standing clock in very good to excellent original condition. The mahogany case on this clock retains original finish in very nice condition. The quarter chiming movement plays your choice of Westminster or Whittington tunes, (selection at top of dial). Note this movement is powered by two large weights, the heaviest weight powering both the chime and the strike through a patent shift mechanism. A 5 tube version of the movement is pictured in Ly's book on longcase clocks (1994), page 236, while the clock itself is pictured on page 250, fig 595. Lots of clock for the money. Height 92" $2,500-$3,500
