Marshall and Adams

Catalog Description:

C.1835, Marshal and Adams, Seneca Falls, N.Y., 8-day time and strike, carved column with cornice, double deck shelf clock, with restoration. This refinished case is veneered in highly figured mahogany and is quite attractive, with only a little work needed to the front edge of the cornice. Marshal and Adams were producing a unique version of the strap movement that was being made in Connecticut (note the rear plate is solid while the front plate is strapped). The bottom tablet and the eagle tablet in cornice are replacements. The dial is very clean with period hands. The label is partially gone, but enough is left to know who made the clock. Marshal and Adams were in business under that name from 1833-36. Mov't clean and running. Height 36" $800-$1,000
