Gilbert Clark and Company

Catalog Description:

C.1845, Clark, Gilbert and Co., Winchester, Conn., 30-hour time/strike hollow column shelf clock. This is a very nice mahogany veneered case with the use of crotch mahogany on the columns and front panels. The case is excellent with only minor veneer chips on sides of the base. The original painted dial is quite good with a little loss on the bottom, around the winding holes and a couple of scratches. The movement is signed and the hands are original. The middle tablet is original, while the lower is a nice copy, both borders painted blue to match. The label is very clean. Slender round weights are original. Note iron pulleys at top should be replaced with wooden pulleys in a wooden saddle (not a difficult task). Height 28.25" $750-$1,000
