Catalog Description: C.1860, Seth Thomas Clock Co., Plymouth Hollow, Conn. This is an early "Regulator No. 2" in a rosewood veneered and grained case. This nice clock has a seconds dial found on some examples. Typical square plate, lantern pinion movement developed by S. B. Terry. This nice example has an original finish and with the exception of blemish on the upper door with needs attention, the veneer is in good condition. Dial has been nicely repainted on the original dial pan by The Dial House. This clock has a very good paper index and black label on a sliding panel inside the case. It also has a scarce brass pendulum bob with the Plymouth Hollow green, monument and churches embossed on it. The very detailed "Regulator" glass has been reblacked, but original gilt is in very good condition with loss only in one area. The upper glass is original and even the gilt around the lower glass is in good shape. Height 34" $1,500-$2,000 |
