This handsome, heavy polished beveled glass and brass case clock with brass silhouette of the Statue of Liberty on the back door. Quality round French 8-day movement with serial number "EM01". Clock actuates the music box once a day (at hour selected by a dial in back of the movement) to play the "Star Spangled Banner" plus other patriotic marches. Or the music may be shut off altogether. Music is key wound from inside the case. Original two jar mercury pendulum. These clocks sold for around $2500 when new, and are the best that modern techniques can produce. The briight gold tone finish is difficult to photograph accurately, but it is attractive. With special double end winding key. These were made to commemorate the re-dedication of the Statue of Liberty. Height 13" $1,750-$2,250
