Fine and rare gilt brass eight day-going hour-striking and repeating, alarm traveling clock. Freres Melly a Paris, (German), circa 1770. Freres Melly a Paris, (German), circa 1770. Fine and rare gilt brass eight day-going hour-striking and repeating, alarm traveling clock. C. Rectangular with domed and stepped top, front and glazed side panels engraved with scrolling, small engraved feet, swivel pendant with loose ring, push button for activating repeater at the front right corner. D. White enamel with radial Roman numerals and outer minute ring with five-minute Arabic figures, center with revolving alarm setting disc, small enamel regulating dial above. Steel "Louis XV" hands. M. Rectangular, brass, fusee and chain, fixed barrel for striking, verge escapement with three-arm plain brass balance and escape wheel inclined to the horizontal plane, flat balance spring, striking, repeating and alarm on a small bell fixed to the bottom of the case. Dim. Height 20 cm., width 10 cm.
