Catalog Description: Astronomical eight day-going, center-seconds, hour and quarter striking, mahogany wall regulator "a violon". Probably Samuel Roy & Fils a Chaux de Fonds, circa 1810. Probably Samuel Roy & Fils a Chaux de Fonds, circa 1810. Extremely rare and fine astronomical eight day-going, center-seconds, hour and quarter striking, mahogany wall regulator "a violon",with date, phases and ages of the moon. C. "Violin" shape, molded wooden bracket-like base, veneered with different colored woods, removable hood with molded top and ormolu finial in shape of a torch. D. White enamel, Breguet numerals, outer minute/seconds divisions with fifteen-minute Arabic markers, phases of the moon aperture and age of the moon at 6 o'clock, date at 12 o'clock. Elaborate gilt brass hands. M. Rectangular, brass, going barrels, dead-beat Graham escapement, knife-edge suspension, two-piece brass rod, large brass bob, rack striking set on the back plate with two bells above the movement.
