Gilt brass 8 day-going, quadruple-train, grande sonnerie quarter-repeating carriage clock with alarm and date. Unsigned, Wien, circa 1870. Unsigned, Wien, circa 1870. Very fine and rare gilt brass 8 day-going, quadruple-train, grande sonnerie quarter-repeating carriage clock with alarm and date. C. Glazed on four sides and on top, molded cornice with beaded edge, rectangular base with molded top, canted corners, massive gilt brass handle. D. White enamel, circular hour chapter with radial Roman numerals and outer minute ring, subsidiary 31-day calendar dial at the lower left and to the right alarm setting dial. Blued steel "spade" hands. M. Rectangular brass, four going barrels, platform with straight line calibrated lever escapement with divided lift, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel helical balance spring, entire escapement jeweled, striking and repeating on two square gongs, alarm on a bell at the base. Dim. Height (with the handle) 20 mm., width 11 cm.
