Antique Waterbury Clock Company "Regulator No. 18" Model Clock Price Type: auction |

Catalog Description: Waterbury Clock Co., "Regulator No. 18", ca 1893. This is the earlier version of the No.18. The oak case is 49 1/2 inches and has been refinished and darkened to a beautiful reddish tint, as oak looks after it ages, except here we got rid of the smoke, and other residues.8 day, 2 weight, time only movement, dead beat escapement, retaining power, solid movement frames, and it is running. Signed beat scale, old black label inside, correct weights. It has a plain brass pendulum as seen on several Waterbury clocks. The flat iron weights are compounded to the case top and fall down the sides out of view. The Dial House made and painted a new dial. The new pan was not a perfect fit to the old holes but you can hardly recognize the fact now. Even at that the dial probably looks as good or better than it did in 1893. Ly-Waterbury No.558. |
