Porcelain like, factory dial, with fancy stamped brass dial insert. Lyre type pendulum with steel and brass rods to compensate for heat and cold changes, and a brass pendulum bob. Porcelain beat scale. The movement has 2 sets of numbers and the Mauthe trademark. Clock runs and strikes.Case is 57 inches high, 30 inches wide, walnut is near perfect and original. There is one small piece of molding missing around one of the beveled mirrors. We have seen or sold a half dozen of this style clock. The side pieces are factory made at the same time as the clock itself. They hook to the clock body which allows for easy removal for transporting. There are a multitude of turnings, full columns on the sides of the mirrors, and many unusual finials. The top is original, including the eagle that has been broken and repaired in a couple of places. The eagle is signed, "ML", and "No.160".
