Antique Lenzkirch Clock Price Type: auction |
|
Catalog Description: Lenzkirch hanging ball clock. Round balance wheel movement with bell strike, is signed by the maker, "Lenzkirsch", and "1 Million 76216". The ball is porcelain, beautiful blue paint, metal back cover. Ball is 7 1/2 inches in diameter, numerals and designs painted on the ball in gold. The bracket, chains and ornaments are bronze. There are many mythical birds, lions, demons head at the bottom, a flying dragon at the top holding the entire clock in his mouth. The whole deal is about 36 inches top to bottom. If I could have found a good wall stud, in the right place, it would not be for sale. It is a keeper and extremely heavy. I have heard of 2 similar clocks. One sold on E-Bay last year, that was missing most of the hanger, chain, and trim around the ball, and sold for $4000. A dealer in the northeast sold one privately, not nearly this nice, for over $6,000. |
