Catalog Description:

E. N. Welch Clock Co. mantle clock, one of the much collected "Commeratives" made by Welch around 1900 and pictured in their trade catalog that year. Thereare 6 clocks in the series; Maine, Winfield Scott Schley, Fitzhugh Lee, JosephWheeler, George Dewey, and William Thomas Sampson. All were involved in theSpanish American War. The cases have a lot of similarities. The main differencesare the embossed heads on the top and the glasses. Cases are pressed oak, 24 inches high, 6 inch dials, half hour strike. They could be ordered withalarms. This clock is complete, no repairs or damage, original with possibleexception of the pendulum. Ly-Welch, pages 197-199.
