Catalog Description: Aaron Willard, Boston. Mass. Shelf clock, ca 1825. The case is numbered "357" in 4 places. Overall the case is 35" high including the finial. All of the case is in excellent condition. The upperbreak arch with some flaws, but solid mahogany. Center fluted plinth withsmall broken piece to the cap, visible from the front but not conspicuous. The clock is topped by a period finial, likely not original to the clock. Unusual brass feet in the form of truncated capitols. Original painted concave dish dial; minute hand replaced, both hands cut steel. The movement is 8 day, time only, weight driven, brass and steel, completely overhauled and in goodrunning order. Original weight, rod and bob. The top glass is original, paintedand decorated with an inscription of Aaron Willard, Boston.
