Antique French or France Shelf Figural Mystery Swinging Arm Clock Price Type: auction |
|
Catalog Description: Mystery clock, a contemporary reproduction of an early French Swinging Arm Clock. An excellent copy of a winged statue standing 30"high and with the arm in place is a very big clock at 38" high. The big 6"blue ball has brass numerals, hands, and bow tie. This very heavy statueis made of solid brass. The manufacturers put a coat of black paint on them, I suppose to retard tarnish. I had mine buffed to show more brass and keptjust a tinge of the dark paint. Customers who have bought these really likethem, especially the price. The front winding movement will run for15 days and isn't nearly as temperamental about running as the old FrenchSwingers. This is a good running movement that may need adjusting after youreceive it, particularly if it is shipped. When it arrived at our place Iunpacked it, hung the arm on the statue, and it has been running unceasinglyever since. |
