Antique Boston Clock Company "Crystal" Model Clock Price Type: auction |
|
Catalog Description: Boston Clock Co. crystal regulator, "Crystal", ca 1890. Case cameon the market with gold plating and standing just less than 10 inches high; with an 8 day seven jeweled lever movement with gilded plates. Much of the gold plating has worn off but the nice brass look remains. Perhaps a little cleaning would brighten it up. The four beveled panels are satisfactory for this price clock. A couple of glasses have edge damage, and one has a tiny corner chip, none of which would prompt me to get new glasses made. One piece porcelain dial is perfect except around the wind arbor, slightly chipped. This company is best known for their tandem wind movement. One wind hole, turn the key right to wind the running gears, and turn left to wind the strike gears. Would retail $600-$800 if perfect. Ly-American No. 244. |
