Catalog Description:

French mantle timepiece, movement signed "E. Howard and Co. Boston, 2860". A drum case made of silver, bronze, and painted metal, wrapped many places with twisted bronze bands around the marble base, the drum case, and the metal columns. A very heavy clock because of the blocks of marble making up the base, and the heavy bronze and metal case. Bowed and beveled glass over the painted metal dial. Great brass hands to match the dial and bronze rope around the glass. 8 day balance wheel movement has solid nickel plates, front plate damascened, some parts stamped "60". Not running as there is onepivot broken in the balance. Selling agent printed on the dial, "E.F.Caldwell and Co. New York".
