Catalog Description:

An outstanding French crystal regulator by "Marti", ca 1900. Marti was one of the leading clock manufacturers in France during the 17th century. On the same level as Howard and Seth Thomas in the United States. This is a large, heavy, well made bronze case that stands 13-1/2 inches high and 11-1/2inches wide at the base. The 8 day, round movement, strikes a hanging cathedralgong on the half hours. Excellent porcelain dial and sash. One brass grommetmissing. 4 heavy beveled glasses, and I notice at least 2 corner chips. Probablywhat sets this clock off more than anything is the 4 large bronze columns, fluted diagonally, machined capitals and bases with etchings and designs. It appears every piece on the case is numbered and marked. Unusual cast feetand decorations on every level of the case. Live mercury pendulum, clockis running. Presentation inscription on the base is dated 1903. The mostclock for the money in the catalog.

The Antique Clocks Price Guide database contains actual sales information about this piece and more than 20,000 other antique clocks. Most records tell you what it sold for at auction and where it was sold. Some records tell you the price that retail dealers are asking for this or similar clocks.
