Catalog Description: Seth Thomas gallery clock Large double spring movement No. 24, signed by Seth Thomas, Thomaston, Conn. Mounted to an iron backplane, running excellent, for 15 days. Cherry case is 27 inches high, 20 inches wide. The case and movementwas restored top to bottom by Frank McLean of Mass. Those of you who don'tknow Frank, he is known across the US for restoring Seth Thomas adamantineclocks. When he finishes with them they are like new and perfect in everyway. Dealers and collectors can't wait for him to put his clocks out forsale at clock shows. This cherry wood case, like his adamantine finished cases, is like new. The clock came out of a school in Mass. The only thing not originalis the paint on the dial, it was redone professionally. There are two lockingdoors, the one you would expect covering the dial, and another on the slantedbottom, that lets down to access the pendulum. Both doors are factory stamped, "38". |
