Catalog Description:

C.1880, German, Gustav Becker, Novelty figural alarm clock in good original condition, serial No. 265,764. During the years up to about 1880, Becker tried very hard to compete with Lenzkirch with quality clocks such as this. This is a neat example of a masculine alarm, with a bearded dwarf holding a barrel overhead, containing the pendulette movement. The case and figure are made of ormolu, with wear to the gilding, but still in nice condition. Height 8.5 inches
