Germany Clock Accesories

Catalog Description:

C.1855, German copy of American-style 8-day fusee shelf clock movement. It retains its iron dial with original paint, though has some chips. There is no case. This movement may have been an early product of the Junghans brothers who came to America about 1850 and worked in an American clock factory, presumably that of Chauncey Jerome. On first glance one would think this movement was a Jerome, but the pallets, escape wheel, rack and snail striking, oddly shaped plate blankings and other feature strongly suggest it is not. The rack, striking hammer and motion work idler gear are missing, Height 9 inches
