Charles Alvah Smith

Catalog Description:

C.1943, Charles Alva Smith, Brattleboro, VT, 8-day wooden works wall clock. This is No. 388, and dated Sept. 1943. The walnut case is in excellent original condition with the original pendulum, weight and counter weight. Note also that this retains the original angled wall bracket for hanging the clock. Mr. Smith was an eccentric individual who started making these clocks as gifts to friends, and when they were so well received, switched to selling them. His lifetime production was around 600 units. This is an especially nice example. Height of case 12.50", as pictured 25 inches
