Antique American or United States Wall Banjo Clock Price Type: auction |
|
Catalog Description: C.1825, A Boston area Box Lyre, with some Centennial updates, and in good condition. The nice part of this clock is that it is great looking. Our best estimate is that the carved finial, carved throat piece and mahogany panel for the lower door were added around 1870 to fit in with the styles of the time. Certainly no additional work has been done since then, other than some touch up to the dial around the winding hole. Has a nice hand made movement of the period. A reproduction would bring more than our conservative estimate. Height 39 inches |
