Antique George D Hatch Clock Price Type: auction |
|
Catalog Description: C.1850, G. D. Hatch, No. Attleboro, MA, unsigned Massachusetts weight banjo in excellent original condition. George Hatch was in partnership with David Williams; they capitalized on the popularity of Willard and Howard models and produced a large quantity of clocks in the 1845-1870 period. George's son, John carried on until perhaps 1875 and that was the last of it. Certain characteristics identify these: the way the pendulum is removable for shipment; the gold stenciled tablets that are often incorrectly replaced with leaf ones, and the delicate lines of the cases. This is about as nice an example as you could want to find. Height 29 inches |
