France Shelf Figural Swinging Arm Mystery

Catalog Description:

C.1890, French, Bronzed Spelter, Swinging timepiece (mysterious action), and in very good original condition. The statue of Charmeuse, after an original by Moreau (signed) with original bronzed finish and all fingers and toes intact. Note the 2 gilded birds, one on her hand, and a second below her feet. Note this figure originally had a wooden base, attached with 6 screws around the perimeter of the statue. Those 6 holes have been filled and painted over. Otherwise complete and sound and with a nice early canister style clock arm in running order. Height 25 inches
