Description

This is one of the most classic examples of Depression era Deco we've seen in a while: a large (and heavy) oval of black marble, the clock in a brass sphere resting in the curl of a wave, the whole surmounted by a large soaring bird. The finish has some fine pitting (not bad) that shows its age, and the movement is dirty, but sound and complete. The bird and wave are patinated bronze over white metal. Both the marble and the casting are signed by the aratist: M. Leducg. This clock is a real work of art. Height 23" Reserve $450
