Ansonia "Jumper No. 2", ca. 1891.
The No. 2 Jumper is slightly smaller than
the No. 1, at 14.5 inches tall.
The nickel plating on this example is a bit dull and I cannot exclude the possibility that part
or all of it has been repainted.
Nonetheless, it looks good and the paper dial is clean; the hands are correct.
doll matches the girl in the catalog illustration (Ly,
Ansonia Clocks & Watches
, page 66) and she is also bobbing happily.
The one-day movement is signed.
These two look good together!
The No. 2 Jumper seems to be a bit more common than the
No. 1, with two sales in 2018 for $600 and $700 at Wooten & Wooten and Fontaine's, respectively.
